Ophtho On-Call is the scheduling and consult-routing tool for the Treasure Valley (Ada County) community ophthalmology call group. It is operated by Maple Grove Eyecare, P.C., 8955 W Hackamore Dr, Boise, Idaho 83709, on behalf of the physicians who share call. This policy covers the website and the text messages it sends.

Your mobile number is never shared or sold. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party. The only outside parties that handle your number are the messaging provider and wireless carriers that deliver the texts you asked for.

What we collect

Call roster: physician names, practices, office numbers, mobile numbers and email addresses, as published on the group's call schedule or provided by the physician.
Office staff: the practice phone number used to sign in.
Consult requests: the requester's name, callback number, facility, urgency and a short reason. Patient details, if entered, are encrypted at rest and shown only to the physician the request was routed to.
Sign-in and activity records: when you sign in, which consults were viewed and acknowledged, and changes to the call schedule.
Messages you send us: replies and texts sent to our text number.

How we use it

To send sign-in codes and verify that you are on the call roster.
To page the on-call ophthalmologist about a consult request, and to update the person who requested it.
To coordinate call trades, schedule changes and group announcements among the physicians and offices in the call group.
To produce de-identified call-volume statistics for the group's hospital contract discussions. These statistics never contain patient identifiers.

Text messaging

We text only people who have given us their number for this purpose: roster physicians and office staff who sign in with a mobile number, clinicians who check the text-update box on the consult form, and anyone who texts our number first. Message frequency varies with call activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts and HELP for help. See the text messaging page and terms for details.

Patient information is never sent by text message. A consult text says who is asking and how to call them back, then links to this site, where patient details are shown only after the physician signs in.

Security and retention

The site is served over HTTPS only. Sign-in codes are stored as one-way hashes. Patient details are encrypted, and every view is logged. Roster information is kept while a physician or practice participates in the call group and removed on request.
